But heritage alone cannot answer the modern call of humanity. We must be driven by an intentional, active purpose. Every initiative we launch, every new member we welcome into our fold, and every single pledge to The Rotary Foundation must carry deep meaning. 

Our purpose requires technical mastery, flawless execution, and vibrant fellowship. Our strategic unity solidified beautifully on April 30, 2026, when our Executive Committee, District Officers, and Impact- Creating Presidents gathered at the Centennial Hall of The Manila Hotel for our Merienda Cena Fellowship from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Marking our very first fellowship after the PELS, the hall was a sea of our official teal-colored uniforms, complemented by our official Rotary ties and scarves, as we took our individual portrait photos. To celebrate this milestone, I was delighted to gift everyone a Manila Hotel Prestige Card alongside a copy of my book, “The Legacy of Sin: A Man of Peace - A Tribute to His Eminence Jaime L. Cardinal Sin.” It was also during this elegant evening that our completed Lupang Hinirang AVP was previewed for the first time, leaving the room in absolute awe of its pristine, professional, and meticulously crafted execution. 

Building directly upon that foundational unity, our intensive preparation found its next momentum during the District Conference (DISCON) 2026, which provided the perfect stage for a smooth, elegant leadership transition rooted in shared intent. On DISCON 2026 Day 1 (May 22, 2026), our incoming leadership team had the distinct privilege of sharing an intimate breakfast fellowship with Rotary International President’s Representative (RIPR) Suchena Ranatunga and his wife, Lady Roshini Ranatunga, where I was honored to present him with a copy of my authored collectible book, “The Legacy of Sin: A Man of Peace - A Tribute to His Eminence Jaime L. Cardinal Sin.” 

Our purpose also found its rhythm—literally—during DISCON 2026 Day 2 (May 23, 2026), which marked the unforgettable grand debut of our Impact-Creating Presidents (ICPs). Moving together in complete unity, the ICPs, District Officers, and I performed a dynamic dance routine set to our official RY 2026-2027 “Create Lasting Impact” upbeat theme music. 

The absolute centerpiece of our purpose was unveiled on DISCON 2026 Day 3 (May 24, 2026), where I was officially presented to the District as District Governor-Elect. The presentation of our comprehensive plans and strategic vision for the upcoming term was met with overwhelming warmth, applause, and shared enthusiasm from the entire district family, cementing our collective readiness to lead. 

With our vision clearly defined, our club leaders turned intent into technical preparedness, gathering for the vital TRF Grant Management Seminar on May 30 at the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) in Binondo — efficiently spearheaded by RC Downtown Manila—followed by the comprehensive Club Leadership Learning Seminar (CLLS) on June 24 at St. Peter the Apostle School in Paco, dynamically hosted by RC Bagumbayan Manila. 

Because we spent those months deliberately preparing, we were ready on July 1, 2026 to unleash a massive wave of humanitarian service. Our term opened immediately with “Pagsibol,” our grand District 3810 Kickoff Project at the Philippine Red Cross Headquarters in Mandaluyong City. Beautifully executed by our host club, RC Manila 101—the proud mother club of my very own home club— mobilizing hundreds of volunteers to deliver lifelines directly to our communities. The day spanned everything from wheelchair donations, cancer screenings, and bloodletting, to the symbolic turnover of portable water pumps for Occidental Mindoro, school book drives, and vital afternoon seminars on environmental protection and disaster preparedness.

To further fortify our knowledge and sustain this high level of community impact, I strongly encourage everyone to participate in an unprecedented milestone in our district’s history: “Pagbuklod,” our first-ever Seven Areas of Focus Conference on July 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Acero Hall, Bonifacio Naval Station in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. Conceived, packaged, and proposed to me by the forward-thinking minds of our host club, RC Chinatown Circle, I gladly gave this brilliant initiative my full endorsement. It is our shared desire to see this landmark summit held annually moving forward, gathering an extraordinary roster of global stakeholders, executives, and industry experts to encourage data-driven decision-making in the design and conduct of our community service projects. 

By grounding our initiatives in real-world data and expert insights, we ensure that our service is sustainable. This is also why we have challenged our District to aggressively bring in new members to breathe fresh vitality and hands-on strength into our clubs. We are not here to simply occupy positions of leadership; we are here to be the literal lifelines for our communities.
